Ramachandra Pai

Ram started his career over 15 years ago running the business finance function for the IT hardware division at Wipro, a tier I IT outsourcer based out of India.

He moved to the ICICI Group, India's largest private bank, where he worked in teams that were in Commercial Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions, Stressed Asset Management, Working Capital Finance, Structuring Domestic and International Securitization and Syndications.

Ram worked in the venture capital arm of the ICICI Group, and also in Corporate Restructuring, Portfolio Management & investment Analysis. He had P&L responsibility in the ICICI Group and was the highest fee earner in Corporate Banking South during his time with the Group.

He led several marquee M&A Financing Deals including ICICI Group's Rs 13.5 Bn (~US$ 270 mn) funding of a domestic acquisition and again US$ 1.0 Billion (~Rs 50 Bn) funding of an overseas acquisition in the F&B space for a leading Indian and Global conglomerate. Ram also closed a US$ 115 Mn (~Rs 5.75 Bn) funding of the acquisition of an overseas medical university for a large private education services company headquartered in India.

He has strong domain knowledge in the Real Estate, Education, IT, ITES, Aviation, Defence, Pharma, Automobile, Time Share, Manufacturing, Sprits and Breweries Sectors.

His most recent role was as Senior Vice President and Head – South at Yes Bank before joining Aarin's Investment team.

Ram has a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from St. Joseph's College of Commerce (1991) and is also a Chartered Accountant (1998).
